- Lewis and Clark: Mapping the West, a project of the Smithsonian Institution and EdGate, includes lesson plans, learning activities, and other information related to cartography on the expedition.
Maps and Cartography
- “Rivers, Edens, Empires: Lewis & Clark and the Revealing of America,” Library of Congress online exhibit. Includes a zoom-able image of the Nicholas King map carried on the expedition. This map shows how little was known about the vast western territory.
- “Mapping the Lewis and Clark Trail,” a brief description of Clark’s mapping tools and methods.
